About this event

  • 7 days 11 hours

By far the largest region in Scotland, the Highlands cover nearly 10,000 sq miles in northern Scotland. The region is home to stunning scenery, including the legendary Loch Ness. It is also the largest geographical whisky producing area with no fewer than 47 distilleries, great news if you like a dram or two! There is also an impressive timber industry, which provides sawmilling, the production of pulp and paper. The crystal-clear waters surrounding the Highlands unsurprisingly make the region among the richest in the world for fish.
