About this event

In this relaxed, interactive workshop, you will collaboratively envision the future of Bath, utilising playful and democratic decision-making techniques inspired by those used in the tech sector.

After meeting the other participants, you will identify what is currently working well in Bath before shifting your focus to areas for improvement. The group will then employ voting, rapid ideation, and visual thinking exercises to develop a messy strategy that offers insights into the chosen problem space, solutions, stakeholders, and assigned roles.

We will conclude with a brief discussion about our findings and share some final thoughts.

Please note: While this session will provide useful insights and interesting discoveries, it is designed to be relaxed and playful, serving as a starting point for local residents to envision and co-create the future development of Bath. We encourage participants to enter the space with an optimistic mindset and direct any highly developed criticisms to other, more formal forums.

Free drinks and nibbles will be available.

Programmed as a fringe event as part of Bath Digital Festival 2024.

This workshop will be facilitated by Nigel Fryatt, founder of POLYMATHIC - a creative technology agency offering workshops, consultancy and technical services to the Arts, Cultural & Higher Education sector (launching during BDF2024). He is a resident at The Studio in Bath, Mentor at EMERGE and a regular guest and associate lecturer for Bath Spa University.
