CNC 102 Tool Training - Project Based

CNC 102 Tool Training - Project Based

Overview

This is a continuation of the CNC 101 Tool Training tool training. Students will take the lead on a CNC project with 1:1 instructor support.

Students will either choose from a preset project or work with the instructor to develop a personal project idea appropriate to the ShopBot CNC router.

This class focuses on reinforcing and expanding CNC workflow skills through hands-on projects. Topics include using Vcarve software to refine 2D vector files for machining, selecting appropriate tooling, creating and adjusting tool paths, setting up material, and safely running a job from start to finish.

Students are expected to be comfortable with the basic operation of the ShopBot CNC and CNC software. CNC 101 Tool Training (or equivalent experience) is required.

Small peices of plywood/MDF will be avalable for basic preset projects but students are expected to provide their own materials for larger personal projects. Personal projects are typically discussed in the 101 class but you can also contact the instructor to discuss the scope of your project: Riley.Pettit@technocopia.org
