Closing of the Bones Ceremony

Learn to perform this powerful and transformative experience at our Closing of the Bones Ceremony training! This ancient ritual is designed to help women heal, release, and honor their bodies after childbirth or any major life transition. Through gentle massage, rebozo wrapping, and sacred blessings, you will learn to help recipients in closing the energetic space that was opened during their journey so they can tap into the wisdom gained through the experience. You and a partner take turns learning and receive the experience.

Carmen and her Dream Doula Village are happy to once again welcome visiting celebrated Mexican traditional midwife and healer, Miri Metztlixochitl who will be offering this training. (Miri will also be offering private Closing of the Bones ceremonies while she is here for those who wish to experience the ritual for themselves. Your Teacher, Miri Metztlixochitl

Miri Metztlixochitl, internationally-acclaimed midwife and ancestral medicine woman from Mexico. Miri is a Holistic therapist, master in Tibetan singing bowls, Master Gendai Reiki Ho, Moon mother level 3 certificate, Red Tent Activator, ceremony guide for women’s circles and Temezcalera leader. She works as a minister in ceremonies for baptism, weddings, calling of the soul of baby, blessingway, motherhood, rights of passage, menarche, menopause, birthdays, etc. She offers courses, workshops, ceremonies and therapy for individuals and groups, and conferences in person and online.

Your Host, Carmen Thomas-Paris

Carmen Thomas-Paris, founder of Dream Doula Village. Carmen is a birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, Reiki healer and Kundalini Women's prenatal/postpartum and family yoga teacher in Los Angeles. She has been doing bodywork for 30 years and is sought after to help heal and clear blocks and obstructions to fertility plus during the labor and the birthing process along with preparing the body during pregnancy and using rebozo techniques to close the body after pregnancy and birth. Carmen utilizes the tools of somatic massage therapy, meditation and yoga with different modalities to customize an experience for each mama and the whole family.

Carmen's first experience with Closing of the Bones was when she took a class with Mexican healer, Naoli Vinaver and was impacted by the way the ceremony speaks to the body. Since that time, Carmen has been impressed by the way that Miri's training incorporates so much ceremonial ritual into the practice. It is this component that Carmen shares with her clients in her capacity as postpartum doula.

She is a certified STREAM (Scar Tissue Remediation Education and Management)practitioner who has mentored with Ellen Heed.
