Oakland Zoo is managed by the Conservation Society of California (CSC), a non-profit organization leading an informed and inspired community to take action for wildlife locally and globally. With over 25 partners and projects worldwide, the CSC is committed to conservation-based education and saving species and their habitats in the wild.  Oakland Zoo is dedicated to the humane treatment of animals and is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), the national organization that sets the highest standards for animal welfare for zoos and aquariums.

UC Climate Steward Certification Course - Participants age 16+. Online lectures Thursday evenings and scheduled in-person field trips.

The UC Climate Stewards Certification Course will integrate locally relevant themes of the conservation of native plants and animals, environmental justice, and community stewardship. Through guest speakers, field trips, and activities, we will learn about and discuss principles and practices towards increasing community and ecosystem resilience to disappearing species, creating equitable and equal access to natural landscapes, and taking action for wildlife.*(8 Thursdays &amp; 4 Saturdays)For Course Scholarship Opportunities, please contact aterry@oaklandzoo.org.
