Climate Literacy Guide Listening Sessions

Shape the update to the Climate Literacy Guide! Join us to discuss the key principles that everyone needs to know about climate change. Listening sessions are hosted by federal agencies and non-federal partners and are open to everyone.

To inform development of the third Climate Literacy Guide, USGCRP’s Climate Engagement and Capacity Building Interagency Group will be hosting a series of virtual public engagement listening sessions in April and May 2023. This listening session, hosted by NOAA's Climate Program Office, will take place on April 17th. The purpose of the listening sessions are to: <ul><li>Provide participants with an overview of USGCRP, the goals of the Climate Literacy Guide, and the writing process, including additional opportunities for engagement.</li></ul><ul><li>Allow federal authors an opportunity to hear from the public on proposed key topics, identify priority issues relevant to the guide, and explore possible uses of the guide.</li></ul><ul><li>Give Climate Literacy Guide authors an understanding of how participants might use the guide and what could make the guide more useful for engagement and capacity building for climate action.</li></ul>The listening session will begin with a short overview of the Climate Literacy Guide and the update process. Then, participants will have the opportunity to discuss key questions around climate literacy related to the listening session theme with authors.
