Digital games are powerful tools for shifting knowledge, attitudes, and behavior, and climate change is an issue where exactly that kind of transformative shift is needed. That's why the Emergent Media Center (EMC) at Champlain College in beautiful Burlington, Vermont is co-hosting a special brainstorming event with Ottawa, Canada-based climate and energy specialists, Smarter Shift.
Come collaborate with distinguished industry leaders, climate and energy subject matter experts, faculty, staff, and students to conceptualize innovative climate change game/app solutions. The EMC is an award-winning academic center of digital innovation specializing in the design and production of electronic games, mobile applications, and other interactive experiences that enrich our communities and shared global future.
Listen to short presentations about why digital media is such a formidable tool to effect positive change, and hear from climate and energy experts about the system changes that will be needed to move toward a post-carbon world. Then, we'll work in small groups to share ideas, iterate, and create game concepts. EMC's tried and true approach to brainstorming is fun, positive, and a fantastic idea-generator. Brainstorming is a key component in jump-starting the creative process. This is your chance to be part of that process and be part of the change.
