Event description

CLEF stands for "Community Listening & Engagement Fund" and it's designed to enable newsrooms to try and start practicing just that: new forms of listening and community engagement.

Specifically, CLEF will be subsidizing Hearken and GroundSource, two services created by journalists and for journalists, to help newsrooms build new pathways for communication and trusting relationships with the public.

In this introductory webinar, Hearken and GroundSource will:

  • Provide an overview of their services
  • Share use examples and case studies
  • Leave lots of time for Q+A (about their services and the subsidy)

Who would benefit from attending this webinar? Newsroom staff involved in editorial and content creation, marketing and audience growth, and management. Listening and engagement practices spread wins to all of these departments in a newsroom.

For more information about CLEF, including FAQs and the application, visit The Lenfest Institute's CLEF page. The deadline to apply is Friday, February 16th 2018 at 5pm Eastern.

CLEF is created and supported by The News Integrity Initiative (NII), the Democracy Fund, The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and The Lenfest Institute for Journalism.

The Year of Listening is a celebration of innovative community journalism hosted by The News Integrity Initiative. The CLEF is one facet of the many activities involved.

By signing up for this webinar, you are opting in to occassional emails from the CLEF sponsors and companies. You may opt out at any time.
