Classical Vocal Music Livestream

Join our global sangha for special livestream of Indian classical music, divine blessings, words of wisdom, and Sanskrit chanting as we commemorate the 117th full moon birth anniversary of HH Swami Hariharananda Paramahansa, a direct disciple of HH Swami Shriyukteshwar, and the monastic master of HH Swami Vidyadhishananda.

HH Swami Hariharananda Paramahansa was born on an auspicious combination of a full moon on a Monday, during the early morning. His solar birth date of 27th May 1907 is on Vaiśākha purnimā full moon also popularly known as Buddha purnimā, as the great Gautama Buddha was born on this same Vedic soli-lunar calendar day. Saturday, 25th May is chosen to commemorate his birthday as a day in-between the Full Moon day of 23rd May and his solar birthday of 27th May.

This livestream will include an introduction to the roots of Indic classical music and its evolution from Sāmaveda by His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda. These opening words of wisdom will be followed by a ‘Dhrupad Sangit’ vocal presentation by India’s premiere vocalist maestro, Omkar Dadarkar, accompanied by Sanjay Deshpande on tabla and Siddhesh Bicholkar on harmonium.

His Holiness Swami Vidyadhishananda is a Himalayan siddha monk and the spiritual founder of the US Nonprofit, Self Enquiry Life Fellowship.

We will commemorate the 117th full moon birth anniversary of HH Swami Hariharananda Paramahansa (right), the monastic master of HH Swami Vidyadhishananda(left).

How to Watch

This concert will be recorded and streamed live on Sunday, 2nd June at 10am Pacific Time. You are welcome to join live or watch the recording on-demand after the livestream at 10am. You can view the livestream and on-demand recording on the same webpage. The recording will be available to watch through 20th June 2024.

The URL and password required to watch will be shared with you in your Eventbrite Registration Confirmation email. You will also be sent the login details 2 hours before the stream begins.
