The program includes:

Johannes Brahms: Academic Festival Overture, Op. 80
Composed in 1880, Brahms' Academic Festival Overture is a jubilant celebration of academic achievement. Filled with energetic rhythms and triumphant melodies, it captures the essence of scholarly success and joyous festivity.

Camille Saint-Saëns: Havanaise, Op. 83
Written in 1887, Saint-Saëns' Havanaise is a captivating work for violin and orchestra, inspired by the rhythms and melodies of Cuban music. Its lush harmonies and virtuosic passages showcase the violin's expressive capabilities, transporting listeners to the vibrant streets of Havana. Featuring Dr. Alvaro Gomez himself!

Robert Schumann: Symphony No. 1 in B-flat major, Op. 38 "Spring"
Composed in 1841, Schumann's Symphony No. 1, also known as the "Spring" Symphony, is a radiant expression of the composer's love for nature and renewal. Its joyful melodies and lively rhythms evoke the freshness and vitality of springtime, making it a fitting conclusion to our afternoon of classical masterpieces.
