Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce

The Reno+Sparks Chamber, in partnership with the National Judicial College, welcomes you to the very first Civics 101 course this August.

<h1>Though opinions are many these days, there is one fact we can’t deny: being engaged in civic life matters now more than ever.</h1>Whether it’s through voting, serving on a jury, or understanding how to work with your government to address the problems you face as a business or nonprofit, it’s a crucial time to be involved. <a href="https://www.thechambernv.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The Reno+Sparks Chamber</a>, together with the <a href="https://www.judges.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">National Judicial College</a>, is pleased to invite its members and the public to attend Civics 101, a half-day workshop at the Chamber, being held on August 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants of Civics 101 can expect to gain a renewed understanding of how government works, a fresh perspective on ways they can work with government to achieve their organizational goals and meet needs, and a commitment to exercise civic duty through voting and other responsibilities. Speakers include:<ul><li>Ann Silver, CEO, Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce</li><li>Hon. Benes Z. Aldana (Ret.), President, National Judicial College</li><li>Hon. Ken Howard (Ret.)</li><li>Hon. Larry Sage (Ret.)</li><li>Former State Senator and Nevada Gaming Commissioner Ben Kieckhefer</li><li>Former State Senator and Chief of Staff to the Governor of Nevada Yvanna Cancela</li><li>Former Nevada Assemblywoman Amber Joiner</li><li>And more</li></ul>The cost is $20 per person. Refreshments will be available during the workshop and lunch will be served following, giving you a great opportunity to network with local officials and each other. Any questions?
