Circus for a cause is a one night event where artists, performers, creatives, and community members will gather in celebration of inTRANSitive, Arkansas's only nonprofit dedicated solely to supporting the rights, dignity, and livelihood of trans people and communities across our state.Inspired by the concept of embodied craftivism, this event is made possible by local artists of all mediums joining forces to display and donate their craft for the greater good. <h4>This means that all artist work is donated -- all proceeds go directly to InTRANSitive.</h4> <h4>--------------------------------- In case that word salad doesn't paint the best picture for ya</h4><h4> </h4>Imagine a fancy gala but make it circus themed (dress up not just welcome, but encouraged)Now mash that with a gallery opening cocktail hour but make it all ages, alcohol freeAdd a creative craft fair featuring art, lessons, and sessions available for sale or auctionBut make it a block party with music, dancing, face painting, and a dope selfie station + by donation professional photoboothDon’t forget the interactive play and learn station where guests can try something new or show off their super secret circus skills to their friends, family, and fellow community membersAND OBVIOUSLY all comes along with real live magical, mystical, and magnificent circus performersSounds like a circus. <h3>A Circus; for a Cause.</h3>--------------------------------------------- <h3>This event will be</h3> <ul><li>All ages, family friendly</li><li>Light snacks &amp; drinks will be available for purchase</li><li>Art, private lessons, and group classes will be available for sale and auction (during and after event)</li><li>Ticketed! Tickets are a suggested donation of $25 but we welcome sliding scale/pay what you can - no one will be turned away for lack of funds.</li></ul> <h2>Come for the circus, stay for the </h2><ul><li>Cost accessible all ages, family friendly, alcohol free fun </li></ul><ul><li>Face Painting You bet your booty this is all ages too! Clownify grandma or touch up your eye liner - it’s all facepaint to me! </li><li>Light snacks, sweets, and treats available for purchase </li><li>Live music This is NWA after all </li><li>Live performances Juggling, aerial arts, hula hoop, dance, acrobatics, and more! Oh my! </li><li>Diverse art, private lessons, and group classes will be available on display, for sale (during the event), or for auction (during and after event) When I say diverse - I mean it! We’ve got over 20 Arkansas artists coming together to offer all kinds of creative energy. Paintings, sculptures, textile arts, music, dance, poetry, graphic design services for small businesses, I even hear we have a belly dancing physical therapist offering cost accessible pelvic floor sessions for trans Arkansans! Incredible! And that's not all. </li><li>Play and Learn Station Whether you are cirque-curious or a seasoned professional the Play and Learn station has something for you. Pop by this station to learn circus skills, try something new, and/or perform the super secret circus tricks you’ve been hiding — directly with professional circus artists! </li></ul><ul><li>Selfie Station + By Donation Photobooth That’s right, take your own photo OR donate directly to Intransitive to have a professional photographer capture the moment for you </li><li>Phonebooth Always intend to contact your representatives but never have the time? This phonebooth is for you! Find a moment during the pre-show event to pop in, learn about current anti-trans and/or anti-immigrant legislation on the docket in Arkansas, and make use of the representative maps and support scripts so you can reach out and let Arkansas legislators know how you feel (and more importantly, how you vote!)) </li><li>Calm, cool, collected zone I’m neurodivergent and know I’m not alone! Circuses can be overstimulating for folks so we have a special spot carved out at The Medium to provide a quiet, cozy, low stimulation zone for when you or your buddy needs a moment. </li></ul><h2>Event Schedule</h2>Doors open at 6pmAttendees are free to roam the main hall and enjoy light snacks and beverages, listen to live music, enjoy visual art &amp; live/roving performances, bid on auction items, or explore the ‘play and learn’ circus station.Show starts 7:30pmThis will be a one hour, seated performance which will feature astounding acts and physical feats as NWA circus artists gather together to share their skills in honor of InTRANSitive.Doors close at 9pmFollowing the show, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with the artists and performers and make final bids, purchases, and donations for the evening.
