Since 1985, The Children’s Cabinet’s mission has been to keep children safe and families together by providing services and resources that address unmet needs through a unique and effective cooperative effort between the private sector and public agencies in Nevada.

By offering a wide range of community programs, the goal of the agency’s founders was to create a lasting public/private partnership to address the needs of children and their families in our community.

In the past year, The Children’s Cabinet helped more than 11,000 families. The Children’s Cabinet’s work extends past the immediate needs of youth and families to promote happy, healthy families. Offering more than 25 programs for children (birth to 24 years old), services include providing food and shelter, crisis intervention and case management, academic support, tutoring, job training and transitional living, parenting classes, child care subsidies, child care resource and referral assistance, and free family counseling.

The Children’s Cabinet provides a wide range of crisis intervention services, including Safe Place, a service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for youth experiencing violence, abuse or exploitation. Programs also include runaway and homeless youth services, substance abuse and gang intervention programming, work experience training, and independent living for former foster care youth.

As a non-profit agency, The Children’s Cabinet relies upon community support in order to offer programs and services at no charge to at-risk children and their families. Thank you for your interest and for your generosity.

Childcare is not provided during class times. Due to safety and liability reasons, please do not bring your children with you to class.
