Circle Keeping 101 - VIRTUAL

Mediation and Restorative Services has been providing low-cost or no-cost peaceful dispute resolution alternatives for over 30 years. The organization has increased the number of programs it offers and now provides mediators for: the community (neighbors, landlords and tenants, employees, schools, family communication, elder issues); Conciliation Court; Shared Parenting (post-divorce co-parenting issues); Restorative Justice (court-referred cases); Restorative Practices in schools.

Come learn about the foundational elements of Circle Keeping.

In this workshop, participants will explore the core principles of circle facilitation, examine the framework and value of preparatory sessions, and acquire the tools and techniques needed to lead their own circles or restorative conversations.Participants will also look into the ancestral roots of Restorative Practices within indigenous communities and discuss how circle keeping can reduce conflict and repair harmBy the end of this training participants will be able to :<ul><li>Name the elements important to the circle process</li><li>Understand how circles are used in society</li><li>Gain skills to facilitate a pre-session, circle, and a restorative chat</li><li>Be able to facilitate circles on their own.</li></ul>RP 101 is a pre-req to this course.
