If you or your daughter are a girl between the ages of 8 and 18 who would like to be a part of an awesome cohort of amazing girls who are reading, writing, leading, and traveling, please join us for a quick overview of our program and how we are helping girls of color elevate to higher levels of leadership, ultimately, providing key experiences and the mindset colleges want to see in your admissions essays.

About Cinnamongirl, Inc.

Cinnamongirl is a nonprofit leadership development organization founded in 2003 in Oakland, CA. We serve high-achieving girls of color ages 8–18 through a year-long program that combines social-emotional learning, mentorship, writing, and travel. Our theory of change is simple: when a girl belongs to herself first, she can lead anywhere. Everything we do is built around that.

Eight Cinnamongirls spent eight months fundraising and preparing for a two-week trip to Kenya in June 2025, visiting Nairobi, an all-girls boarding school, Maasai Mara National Reserve, and one of the many beautiful beaches along Kenya's eastern coast.

Cinnamongirls from all cohorts gathered together to celebrate Galentine's day last February.

Seven of the 18 authors published in our latest anthology, I Am the Dream, a collection of short stories and poetry, celebrated their accomplishments at our book launch party in March 2025.
