What are the guidelines?

Keep the dance floor sacred: no chatting (sounds and singing are welcome), shoes, or technology in the dance area. Come sober—no substances allowed. Always get clear consent before dancing with someone. Full participation is encouraged, and we ask that you respect the space and the community.

What are the demographics?

It is a beautifully diverse space and consistently feels safe and welcoming for people of all races, genders, and ages. On average, about 75 percent of attendees are between the ages of 20 and 40, with around 25 percent being over 40, and roughly 70 percent identify as women.

Question 3

What music will be played?

Accepted Answer

Ecstatic dance music includes at least 5 different genres and follows a wave or arc, beginning with slow, meditative music, gradually increasing intensity to a peak, and then gently slowing down again. The typical genres are house, tribal, downtempo, world, disco, folktronica, bass, and psytrance.

Can I arrive late?

Late arrivals are still welcome, but it is highly recommended to arrive by 8 pm to participate in the opening circle and pre-dance activity. We just ask you to familiarize yourself with the guidelines and the overview of the experience before coming into the space if you will be late.

Are the lights off?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have the big lights off with just the light up stars, speaker lights, and couple of space lights on throughout the dance. No bright fluorescents or strobe lights.
