Burnout is REAL...

As we end the school year and head into summer, many of us may be feeling stressed out to the max; the kids are stir-crazy, work is demanding of our time and energy, and the weather can't make up its mind so we must live in the clutter that includes both swimsuits AND sweaters!

Taking time for yourself is CRITICAL to lower stress levels, avoid burnout, and live a healthy life.

This month, we are MAKING time for ourselves to slow down and do some reflection with a guided meditation and journaling session led by IIN Certified Holistic Health + Life Coach and Cincinnati Ambassador for Together Digital, Toni Plumb.


Meditation and journaling are two helpful tools in managing your mental health.

Meditation can change the actual structure of your brain. People who practice meditation also report lower levels of stress and anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. Consistent meditators often sleep better and demonstrate improved immune function. Practicing meditation can also help bring clarity and focus to your daily life.

Guided meditation is a great way to begin your meditation practice as you have an experienced instructor alongside you. They aren’t just there to give guidance—they also provide encouragement and support.

Journaling can help manage anxiety, reduce stress, and cope with depression. It can help control your symptoms and improve your mood by helping you prioritize problems, fears, and concerns, track symptoms to recognize triggers and learn ways to better control them, and provide an opportunity for positive self-talk while identifying negative thoughts and behaviors.


What to expect:

30 min guided meditation followed by a 30 min journaling session.

What you need:

Bring a yoga mat or towel, pen + paper or journal, and a water bottle.

Toni graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in 2021. During this program, she studied various elements of and theories around health + wellness, areas of primary food, and business.

Toni’s goal as a health + life coach is to help you live a life you love and love the life you live! She looks at health holistically—asking questions about your relationships, career, education, creativity, physical activity, and home environment—rather than digging into what’s on your plate first. Creating healthy habits and finding balance in these areas (and more) contributes to you living a life you love and loving the life you live.
