About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 8 hours

The continued news headlines read of abuse in the church, negligence of abuse reporting, and an increase of lawsuits for negligence. We want to equip churches with the skills and knowledge to help victims of abuse and teach how to protect the church simultaneously.

Churches have done a great job of reaching the world by spreading the Gospel. We want to help your ministry team increase your toolbox with skills to help those in your congregation with real world problems. Trainings will have a balance of Biblical scriptures, laws, and science.

Trainings will be taught by a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), L, & Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Life Coach (LC), and individuals who work in the medical field.

Topics will include (and so much more):

Tiffini Bingham, IBCC, BCMMHC: all the cool brain science about function

Janet Henriquez, LCSW (IN/CO): (1) Cultural diversity: steps for inclusion when working with BIPOC & individuals who are non English domanent. (2) Communication skills: marriages - did you really say that?

Cassandra Morton, LCSW (IN/CO): (1) How technology affects the mental health of kids. (2) Communication skills: parenting - why are we not listening to each other?

Heidi Titus, RD: (1) Physical movement & the brain connection. (2) Food addiction - all the facts.

Falicia Miller, LMHC, LPC (1) Pornography addiction (2) Documentation: You reported the incident - how to protect both the church & victims.

    Gwendolyn McLaurrine, LMHC, NCC: TBD

Participants will leave the training with a better understanding of the listed topics in order to help the parishioners in their churches, districts, youth groups, or clinical agencies.

We will also have a Q&A to process the trainings and how to apply thim at the local church.
