Through fully honoring where you are at, in this moment, you can welcome the beauty that lies in the transformation that awaits you.Your Guide-Matthew ChavezAs one of the Pacific Northwest’s only SOMA breath facilitators, Matthew Chavez is inspired to share the life-changing process with everyone. Matthew has always had a deep curiosity and drive for exploring the inner space of the human body/mind. Experiencing a traumatic back injury at age 18, Matthew needed a long-term solution for managing and healing the pain. Committed to a deeper healing process he discovered Soma Breath. It was through Soma Breath he unearthed a sacred connection to breath, what has become an essential relationship to nurture.What we will cover<ul><li>Techniques: rhythmic breathing, breath holds, etc.</li><li>Sounding, movement &amp; touch during breathwork</li><li>Potential experiences</li><li>Safety zone vs. comfort zone</li></ul>What you will need<ul><li>A quiet &amp; comfortable spot with no distractions</li><li>Water or Tea</li><li>Blankets, pillows, etc.</li><li>Journal</li><li>Any totems, crystals or sacred items you would like to have with you</li><li>Eye cover or dark room (optional)</li><li>Candles, incense, essential oils, etc.</li></ul>*It is recommended that you DO NOT eat 1-2 hours prior to the session. *For best sound quality, use headphones with a laptop over earbuds with a phone, if possible.Check out the video below for further information on how to be best prepared for this experience.Breathwork Benefits include:<ul><li>Release of stored emotional energy in the body</li><li>Stress &amp; anxiety relief</li><li>Balance of the nervous system</li><li>Heart/brain coherence</li><li>Amplified intuition, insights &amp; creativity</li><li>Improve oxygen efficiency</li><li>Enhanced clarity &amp; direction</li><li>Greater alignment and connection to oneself.</li><li>Accessing expanding states of consciousness</li></ul>As a part of this experience, you will experiment with breath retentions (holds). Although these techniques have a ton of benefits for most, there are a few situations where we advise that you do not participate in the breath holds. If you experience any of the following conditions, please let us know &amp; DO NOT participate in the breath holds.
