Alma Dance Theateris a female-centric performing group, created and directed by Miami native choreographer Marissa-Alma Nick. Taking on contemporary social issues through dance, the company deemed "provocative, intelligent & unexpected" by the Miami New Times, is a sheer force of nature that will leave you wanting more. Wanting to create an opportunity for their audience to “see themselves” in the work, the artists that makeup Alma Dance Theater are a bold reflection of Miami’s international and immigrant-based culture.

<a href="https://www.rebelinvenus.com/almadancetheater" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">ALMA DANCE THEATER</a> presents:CHOREOGRAPHY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP with choreographer <a href="https://www.rebelinvenus.com/aboutmarissaalmanick" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Marissa Alma Nick</a>WHENSaturday - November 5th - 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM + Sunday - November 6th - 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM WHEREBlackbox Studios Miami - 2656 NE 189th Terrace, Miami, FL 33180Parking: Lot and FreeCOST$250​*Both days are included in the price, and suggested to attend *This choreographic development workshop is designed for:​- aspiring &amp; emerging choreographers(professional choreographers are also welcome)​At this choreographic development workshop you will:- discover/build on your developing signature style and stay fluid- things to consider when self-producing your own work, and learn how to anticipate, prepare and go with the flow- build on the ability to create/memorize a combo on the spot - learn how to develop your communication skills with collaborators when producing your own shows and projects (I.E: composers, costume and stage design, lighting designer. etc.)- practice building your confidence in communicating your needs with clarity and consideration for your dancers - learn ways to create a safe working space, while assessing and communicating clear and healthy boundaries with your dancers​- how to explore the unknown with confidence and curiosity Dress code: Come as you are, but do dress comfortable and ready to move, no shoes are required. Suggested: - Phone, Laptop, notebook... any means that you enjoy taking notes with- Water (you can never have too much water)- Light snacks and water will be provided, feel free to bring anything else you want to snack on.
