CHORAL CONNECTIONS WEEKEND

As we close our 22nd season, Vocális welcomes home one of America’s most dynamic young conductors, Malcolm J. Merriweather. A native of Grand Island, NY, Malcolm is director of the New York Philharmonic Chorus and New York City’s The Dessoff Choirs; serves on the faculty of Brooklyn College; and is Artistic Director of “Voices of Haiti,” a 60-member children’s choir in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, operated by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation.

Choral Connections Season Finale Concert – Voices Raised
Vocális closes our 22nd season with a joyful celebration of the vast array of choral voices, presenting exciting works by historically marginalized composers. Guest Conductor Malcolm J. Merriweather leads a performance of Margaret Bond’s powerful piece Credo, as part of a program of choral works which demand to be performed. Join us as we create space for these voices to be raised.
