Children's Theatre Camp w/ Missoula "The Sleeping Beauty"

During the first week of Summer Art Camp, the Hiddenite Arts & Heritage Center is excited to host Missoula Children’s Theatre with "The Sleeping Beauty." From June 17th to June 22nd, Missoula Children's Theatre will provide an extraordinary opportunity for local students to participate in a professionally-led production. This unique educational project promotes creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills, and self-esteem in students.

 The Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for more than 40 years from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,200 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors. A tour team arrives in Hiddenite, NC,  with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play...except the cast. The team holds an open audition on the first day of camp and casts 50-60 local students to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and the public performance is presented on Saturday. The show will be an original adaptation of the Classic children’s story, SLEEPING BEAUTY with a twist! This camp is perfect for students interested in a career in the performing arts!  Students are asked to bring a bag lunch each day.

The public is invited to attend the production on Saturday, June 22nd at 10:00am.  Admission to the performance will be $6 Adults, Senior Adults/Students $5, preschoolers and younger FREE.
