Overview

ChildFirst® Forensic Interviewing, Expanded

***Each participant should be registered using their own name and contact information. To ensure fairness and accurate attendance records, registrations are limited to one seat per person. We kindly ask that attendees not register multiple individuals under the same name or attempt to reserve seats for others.

If you are registering on behalf of others (for example, as an administrative assistant or coordinator), please complete a separate registration for each individual using that person’s name and contact information. If you are unsure whether someone has already been registered, please contact Madison Wingate at madison.wingate@occy.ok.gov before submitting another registration.

Based on the nationally-recognized ChildFirst® Forensic Interview Protocol, this training provides a purposeful and legally defensible process for conducting expanded forensic interviews with children who may not succeed in a standard, single interview due to trauma, developmental, special needs or other complicating issues, including polyvictimization. This training will teach the expanded interview process as well as research supporting multiple, non-duplicative interviews with child victims and witnesses. This training is appropriate for multidisciplinary team members that have successfully completed a nationally recognized forensic interviewing protocol.

Learning Objectives:

1. Discuss the research supporting a multiple non-duplicative forensic interview.
2. Teach the ChildFirst Expanded Forensic Interview process.
3. Students will practice the techniques learned.
