About this event

The Child/Adolescent/Parent Program (CAPP) invites you to an Admissions Open House.

Program directors Jane Bloomgarden and Irene Studwell will answer questions about our training program.

Our program weaves together the study of individual child & adolescent, and parent development through understanding the impact of psychological histories, relational patterns, intergenerational effects, and changing social contexts and constructs. Training is based on a psychodynamic, relational orientation to change, integrating parent guidance and advice as needed.

We welcome all mental health practitioners, whether your work is exclusive to children & adolescents, primarily serves adults, or some combination. We never forget that there is, after all, a child’s history within each adult and the challenge of growing within every child, adult, and parent.

Who is eligible and should apply?

Applicants must be licensed Masters or Doctoral-level mental health professionals: M.D., Ph.D., Psy.D., LCSW, NP, LMSW, LCAT, LMHC, LMFT

CE Credits will be offered for coursework.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.

Timeline:

Rolling admissions with decisions made by July 30, 2021.

Program begins September 2021

Organizer WCSPP

Organizer of Child/Adolescent/Parent Training Program Open House

Over the years WCSPP has expanded our programs. Initially we provided training in adult psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. Gradually as we grew, we initiated specialty programs in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Couples Therapy. We have also provided training in Supervision. In addition, WCSPP prides itself on providing low cost accessible psychotherapeutic treatment to the community. Our Psychotherapy Center gives our candidates the opportunity to develop their treatment skills under the careful supervision/consultation with our experienced and highly accomplished faculty.

Together with our Psychoanalytic Association, we offer a wide variety of conferences, Scientific Meetings, professional retreats, film presentations and opportunities for social engagement with members of our supportive community. If you are seeking a professional community to function as your professional home, which will help you network to create or grow your private practice, please join our many hundreds of graduates and candidates and become part of our WCSPP family. We invite you to become acquainted with all of our programs and events that might serve your professional interest. We look forward to introducing you to the Westchester Center.
