PRESENTS: CACFP MEAL PATTERN TRAINING

This training is designed to provide information on the CACFP Meal Pattern Requirements for creditable claim reimbursements. The CACFP Meal Pattern should be fully implemented by program participants for every age group, including infants and preschoolers that participant in the program. All CACFP participants will be subject to serious deficiency findings if not compliant during MDE or USDA visits, whether unannounced or announced, or during an administrative reviews when found they are noncompliant with the meal pattern component requirements. This meal pattern training will assist participants to ensure they are serving creditable CACFP meal components.

CACFP Overview of Training Topics:

• Required meal components and portion size for proper age groups

• How to plan your menu with creditable CACFP meal components

• Best Practices - Whole Grains, Fluid Milk, Meat/Meat alternative, Fruits and Vegetables

• Infant CACFP Meal Patterns Requirements

• Whole Grain (creditable) vs Grain Based Dessert (not creditable)

• Creditable CACFP Preschool Meals and Snacks

• Understanding the USDA CACFP Crediting Handbook – Don’t lose your CACFP claim for failure to serve required milk and meal components

• Food Safety in Childcare

Training time: 9:00am – 4:00pm CACFP Meal Pattern Requirement Training. Only two individuals from from the same organization are allowed to attend this training. No exceptions!

LUNCH ON YOUR OWN (12:00pm – 12:45pm)

TARGET AUDIENCE – CACFP institutions/participants with an approved CACFP Coordinated Application that participate in CACFP, center directors, assistant directors, individuals who compile/submit claims for meal reimbursement, food service directors, cooks, and other center staff with CACFP administrative responsibilities.

NOTE: You must create a log in and password on www.Eventbrite.com to register for CACFP trainings. You must save your Log in name and Password information. CACFP staff will not have access to any log in or password information.

Registration is required for all in-person trainings. You must print out and bring your registration ticket confirmation. No exception. No transfer of tickets.. Due to limited seating, no walk-in participants will be allowed to attend. There is no wait list for CACFP in-person trainings. The CACFP reserves to the right to cancel trainings due to low participation.
