We’ll cover everything you need before the first bird is even touched. That includes equipment setup, water and power needs, manpower, freezer space, ice baths, and having bags and supplies ready so the day runs smooth and nothing goes to waste.
Phase 2: Preparing the Birds & Your Crew
You’ll learn how to properly prepare your chickens for processing day, including when to pull feed, how to transport them, and how to get your crew ready. We’ll also go over proper gear like rubber boots and aprons so everyone stays safe and clean while working.
Phase 3: From Live Weight to Finished Bird
We’ll walk you step-by-step through the full processing method, explaining what happens from live weight to hanging weight and beyond. You’ll see how to do it efficiently, humanely, and with respect for the animal.
This class includes a live demonstration, and you won’t just be watching, you’ll have the opportunity to step in and learn by doing.
And at the end of the day, you’ll head home with a chicken you helped process yourself.
