2. Learn the HealthRHYTHMS protocol and how to use it as a rhythm prescription for participants to benefit from active music-making

3. Develop effective HealthRHYTHMS group empowerment drumming facilitation skills

4. Create and market integrated group drumming healthcare programs in your community

Our program is open to doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, social workers, counselors, psychiatrists, teachers, musicians, music-therapists, recreation therapists, occupational therapists, HR professionals and other interested individuals who wish to integrate group drumming activities within a chosen healthcare or wellness setting in their workplace or community.

MEET YOUR TRAINER:


Arlene de Silva is the visionary Founder and CEO of the Cincinnati Music & Wellness Coalition (CMWC), pioneering the nation's first community-wide recreational music-making wellness coalition in 2009. Committed to enhancing the quality of life for diverse populations, Arlene has overseen the growth of CMWC from 30 members at its inception to an impressive 119 members in 2021. This coalition comprises non-profits, senior care facilities, universities, hospitals, physicians, and musicians spanning the United States, Switzerland, and Sri Lanka.

Beyond her leadership role, Arlene is a multi-talented writer and photographer. She authored the captivating coffee table book, "Faces in Aging," featuring 60 photographs and stories of older adults worldwide. Additionally, she co-wrote and photographed "Life in Old Age," a poignant photo/essay book highlighting the lives of older adults in Switzerland and the United States.

Arlene's educational background includes a major in accounting from Aquinas University, Sri Lanka, and a Licentiate from the Royal Schools of Music, London, England. Her advocacy extends to eldercare and refugee health, showcasing a dedication to holistic well-being for marginalized communities.
