About the Instructor
Elizabeth Choto is a food stylist and educator who believes in the power of artful food presentation. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, she began her journey in food as a child while helping to tend her parent’s garden and exploring all the fresh, seasonal produce and fruit they grew. By the time she enrolled in high school, she opted for Home Economics cooking classes that helped set the foundation for how she approaches food and food presentation.
Moving to the U.S. at 15 opened a new door to a whole other world of food and after stints in a few major food cities, she settled in New Orleans and instantly felt at home. With a background in K-12 education, a layoff led to a pandemic pivot that is now growing and continuing to showcase food as nourishment AND art.
Elizabeth has developed grazing boards that range from the small charcuterie cups, monograms, and grazing boxes to larger crowd pleasing platters and grazing tables. Each bespoke arrangement is created to make the ordinary extraordinary thus turning food into art.
Elizabeth’s boards have been featured in a number of local publications and she continues to develop her art by incorporating fresh, local produce as well as food accents from her childhood and travels. She now combines her love of food and teaching to host in-person and virtual workshops where she shares tips on how to style food.
