On Friday 11th September, the doors to Spice & Steam will open for the very first time for Chapter One: After Dark — an intimate, ticketed opening-night celebration exclusively for our Founding Readers.

Before we officially open to the public, you’ll have the chance to step inside, explore the shelves, discover the space and experience Spice & Steam exactly as we dreamed it.

Throughout the evening, our masked men will be on hand to welcome you and serve a selection of sweet and savoury canapés, while you enjoy drinks, coffee, books, music and plenty of time to browse, shop, take photos and meet fellow readers.

Your £45 ticket includes your welcome drink, roaming canapés throughout the evening, coffee and refreshments, exclusive first access to shop Spice & Steam, and your own limited-edition Founding Reader gift tote to take home.

Each Founding Reader tote will contain a specially wrapped Blind Date with a Book, metal bookmark, wax melts, complimentary coffee voucher, chocolates and a personal thank-you from Spice & Steam — including a few pieces created especially to mark our very first night.

And because no good story ends exactly where you expect it to…

there may be a plot twist waiting before the night ends. 👀👻

This evening is about celebrating books, community and the beginning of everything we hope Spice & Steam will become. Whether you’ve supported us from our earliest pop-ups or have only just discovered us, we’d love for you to be part of Chapter One.
