An open conversation with Dr Mary Ryan on hormones, perimenopause, menopause and understanding your body through life’s changes.
Women’s bodies change throughout their lives, but understanding what is happening, what is normal and when to ask for help isn’t always straightforward.
Join Dr Mary Ryan, Consultant Endocrinologist and Physician, for an open and practical conversation about women’s hormonal health through the different stages of life.
Rather than a formal medical talk, Mary will be interviewed by local pharmacist Maj Cunningham, who will put to her the questions that women often want to ask but don’t always get the opportunity to.
What changes should we expect as we get older? What are the early signs of perimenopause? How do you know if symptoms could be hormonal? What actually happens during menopause? What can we do to look after our physical and emotional wellbeing as our hormones change? And when is it worth speaking to your GP or another healthcare professional?
The conversation will look at the different stages of a woman’s life, with a particular focus on perimenopause and menopause, exploring some of the signs and symptoms women may experience and the impact hormonal changes can have on everything from sleep, mood and energy to weight, concentration and general wellbeing.
Mary will also discuss the importance of looking after yourself as you move through these different stages, helping women better understand their bodies and feel more confident about recognising changes and seeking advice when they need it.
There will also be an opportunity to hear answers to the kinds of questions women are asking every day, in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Changing Tides is an evening for women of all ages — whether you’re experiencing changes yourself, wondering what may be ahead, or simply want to understand your body a little better.
An open conversation about hormones, perimenopause, menopause and looking after yourself through every stage of life.
