About this event

Our City supports our vibrant, diverse neighborhoods. The Champaign Neighborhood Network Conference (CNNC) is a dynamic one-day conference featuring presentations from City staff, local governing bodies/institutions, and community partner agencies covering topics relevant to maintaining vibrant and engaged neighborhoods. CNNC is geared towards Champaign's registered neighborhood group leaders, their respective neighbors and community members interested in neighborhood organizing and engagement efforts. CNNC will provide a content rich day of diverse learning opportunities in areas such as City programs, engagement initiatives, and community resources available to support building stronger neighborhood connections. Registered neighborhood group leaders can also attend the Small Grants 101 workshop, leaving with a completed small grant application, and a planned engagement event for their neighborhood! The conference will include a key-note address from Neighborhoods USA (NUSA) president Precious McKesson. Then, join us in the Walnut and Washington Parking lot from 12:00 noon - 4:00 pm for the kick-off event to the Champaign NEIGHBORhood NetWORKS Campaign. CONFERENCE SPACE IS LIMITED. Register today! Frequently asked questions

Can I attend CNNC if I'm not part of a registered neighborhood group?

Yes! The conference is geared toward our registered neighborhood group leaders, but anyone can attend. We would ask that you use what you've learned to organize a neighborhood group where you live! *Please note the Small Grants101 Workshop is limited to leaders of registered neighborhood groups.

Can Children attend CNNC?

The conference is open to youth ages 16 and older.

Is the conference site accessible?

Yes! From the conference site's website: Our hotel is committed to providing accessible accommodations for guests of all abilities. We offer a range of accessible features, including wheelchair-friendly rooms, elevators, and more.

Can I bring my own food to the conference?

Food for the conference site is catered exclusively by University Catering. No outside food is allowed at the conference. However, the catering selections include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.

What if I am not able to stay for the full time of the conference?

Though we hope all attendees can get the full conference experience, we understand that there may be existing conflicts keeping attendees from attending all workshop sessions. Please only sign up for sessions you can attend so spots remain open for others.
