About this event

Want to learn how to maintain and safely operate a chainsaw? This class is for those who want to use a chainsaw for personal use or disaster response. Additional chainsaw operators are needed to help with cleanup when tornadoes and hurricanes cause tree damage.

The training is being provided in two locations and includes the classroom overview (with dinner) on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Saturday from 8 AM to 2 PM with lunch provided. The hands-on training for chainsaw operation will be provided on property with downed trees.

Registration is first-come, first-serve and only 15 slots are available for participating in both days of the training. An additional 10 slots are available for those who just want to take the classroom safety training on Friday.

There is no charge for this training. However, if you would like to contribute to the ministry by supporting the work of disaster response preparations in the TX/OK area, you may do so at this link: https://give.pcamna.org/to/1866/. This is certainly neither required nor expected, but people often ask how they may support the continued work of the ministry. This is one way to do so that helps us to offer this training at no cost.

You must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver's license to participate in this course.

Requirements for Saturday (hands-on training):

  • PCA member
  • Work boots
  • Long pants
  • Hearing protection
  • Work gloves
