Implicit bias within the neurodiverse community and its consequential behavior, ableism, can significantly impact the health and well-being of neurodiverse individuals and those with whom they interact in various areas of engagement. In this training, we will discuss the research regarding the destructive quality of implicit bias, how ableism constricts growth for neurodiverse individuals, and ways in which to reduce both implicit bias and ableism in working with neurodiverse youth and adults.
