Come learn about what makes Florida a unique state for keeping honeybees.

This is a one-class workshop that will start from 9 am to 3 pm.

About this event: This is a one-class workshop hosted by the Central Florida Livestock Agents Group (CFLAG), that will start from 9 am to 4 pm.

In this beginner friendly class, we will go over the basics regarding beekeeping.

Topics covered will include:

  • Brief history of beekeeping
  • Legality of beekeeping in Florida
  • Honey bee biology
  • Hive structure
  • Start up costs
  • Hive products
  • And more

The class will culminate with a live hive visit where we will have a hive inspection.

This class will be taught live by JK Yarborough, in Orange County at the UF/IFAS Extension Office, located at 6210 S. Conway Rd, Orlando, FL 32812.

Cost is $45.00 per person.
