9:00 AM – 9:50 AM Pesticide Safety, Florida Regulations, and Environmental Protection Participants will learn how to safely handle, mix, apply, store, and transport pesticides while complying with Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) regulations. Topics include personal protective equipment (PPE), preventing pesticide exposure, spill response, environmental hazards, and protecting Florida's water resources through proper application practices. Emphasis will be placed on the applicator's legal responsibilities and the importance of following pesticide labels. Participants will also learn about plant nutrition and proper fertilization. 9:50 AM – 10:40 AM Diagnosing and Managing Weeds and Plant Diseases Using Integrated Pest Management Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective pest management. Participants will learn how to identify common landscape weeds and plant diseases found in Florida landscapes and distinguish them from environmental and cultural
