At Sling-Choker Academy, safety isn’t just a requirement - it’s our craft!

Our Certified Working at Heights (WAH) program meets Ontario Ministry of Labour standards and is designed for workers who perform tasks at heights in construction, industrial, mining, and commercial environments. Whether you're new to the industry or renewing your certification, this course ensures you have the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience to work safely and competently.

Delivered by experienced instructors with real-world industrial and rescue backgrounds, this program goes beyond theory. We focus on practical application, hazard awareness, fall prevention systems, equipment inspection, and emergency procedures, because when you’re working at height, details matter.

What You’ll Learn

• Legislative requirements and responsibilities
• Hazard identification and risk assessment
• Hierarchy of fall protection controls
• Guardrails, travel restraint, fall restricting, and fall arrest systems
• Anchor points and lifelines
• Harness inspection, fitting, and use
• Rescue planning fundamentals

What to Bring

To ensure a smooth check-in and practical training experience, please bring:

✔ Government-issued photo ID
✔ Safety shoes (preferred for practical components)
✔ Personal harness (preferred, if you own one)

If you do not have your own harness, training equipment will be provided.

Course Details

• Ministry-compliant Working at Heights certification
• Valid for 3 years (as per Ontario regulations)
• Combination of classroom theory and hands-on practical training
• Certificate issued upon successful completion
