What you will learn in this optical network training:

The growth of the Internet, cloud services and 5G networks are all piling immense pressure on the Optical Networks that support them. On this course you will learn how optical networking technology can meet the challenges of increasing capacity, extending reach, increasing flexibility, controlling latency, providing quality of service and going open and interoperable.

All of this whilst keeping costs under control and reducing electrical power consumption so that the Internet does not cost the Earth.

You will learn how the powerful combination of coherent transmission & digital signal processing has transformed optical communications at data rates of 100Gb/s, 400Gb/s, 800Gb/s and beyond.

You will learn about the changes necessary to DWDM systems for operating efficiently at data rates of 400Gb/s & above.

Understanding how the right mix of optical and electronic technologies is used to overcome limitations is a recurring theme of the course, as is the role of SDN and its implications for facilitating open systems including open optical line systems, Open ROADMs and white box solutions.

You will appreciate the fundamental limitations that apply & the trade-offs & compromises to be made, so that you can make strategic decisions about the long-term plans for your network.

FibergGuide is a training and consulting company with three core competencies: wide area network solutions, fiber optic training and network engineering services. At FiberGuide, we leverage our technical expertise, many years of experience in fiber optics and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and strong partnerships with key industry players to provide services to the telecommunication and IT industries.

FiberGuide Wide Area Network Solutions

Partnering with master agent Telarus, FiberGuide leverages access to hundreds of global carriers to create a one stop source for a wide range WAN solutions. With providers like Verizon Business, Comcast Business, Centutylink, Level (3), GTT, Telia Carrier, NTT and many others, FiberGuide is positioned to be a valuable partner for our clients. Moreover, FiberGuide has a wide range of carrier service locating tools, such as Geoquote, that help our clients easily find WAN solutions that best meet their technical specifications and budget. FiberGuide’s WAN solutions include carrier Ethernet, International VPLS, SD-WAN, International VPLS and dedicated Internet access. For more details, please visit the FiberGuide WAN page.

FiberGuide Optical Network Training

As demand for bandwidth continues unabated and as network technologies required to meet this demand become more complex, the need for highly trained engineers has never been greater.  Under license from UK based Optical Technology Training (OTT), FiberGuide offers optical network training to planning and design engineers. Our intense 5-day training courses cover concepts from conventional 10Gbps DWDM systems to more sophisticated higher data rate concepts such Flexigrid, next generation CDC and ROADMs. FiberGuide has two training models – corporate and open enrollment training. For more information please visit the FiberGuide fiber optic training page.

FiberGuide Network Engineering Services

As a value-added service to clients who lease WAN solutions through FiberGuide, we offer network engineering service including WAN service selection, free circuit monitoring and dark fiber support services. For more information, please visit the FiberGuide network engineering page.
