About this event

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates families and individuals about preparing for disasters or hazards that may impact their area. CERT trains people in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an incident until professional emergency responders and critical resources arrive. This cohort will be the 3rd in collaboration with the Faunteroy Center & Serve DC. We encourage those who live in the Eastland Gardens, Kenilworth, Mayfair, Parkside, Hillbrook, Deanwood, Grant Park, and Lincoln Heights areas to participate. If you are not from those areas, you may register still!

The training is a 5-Day course with a final exam.

  • Training days are Monday, May 20th, through Friday, May 24th. Each session will be from 6-9pm
  • There is a $200 stipend for any participant who is from any of the targeted neighborhoods who attends all 5 training sessions and passes the final exam.

You MUST attend all 5 days of training and pass the final exam to receive your certification.

You are registering for all 5 days and the final exam with this registration.
