During this tour, you will gain firsthand knowledge of the brickmaking process, explore career opportunities, and learn about real-world applications of materials science. During the tour at The Belden Brick Company, you’ll have the chance to:

  • Tour three different Belden Brick manufacturing plants and learn about:
Raw materials (such as surface clays and shales)
Chamber drying
Firing temperatures
State-of-the art tunnel kilns and old-style beehive kilns
Decorated brick
  • Chat with professionals from the brick/structural clay industry and learn about their unique career journeys
  • Take home knowledge and career resources about the ceramic science industry to your students
