About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

In this session, we will learn about what is being actively done in the nation and in Virginia to center disabilities in the overlaps of public health, urban planning, and transportation efforts. The session will begin with a presentation, followed by time for Q&A. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about ways to get more involved in advocating for accessibility in their work and personal lives. They will also go outside to learn how to identify universal design themselves. Our session presenters will be Alan Heijl from Spark Access and Margarita Prokofyeva and Matthew Shapiro, from the Livability Initiative.
