Heart Galleries of Texas monthly webinars are provided to the child welfare community with the purpose to inform and bring awareness to current child welfare practices and efforts related to adoption and post permanency. In addition, the webinars assist in keeping communities connected which helps to build collaboration within the child welfare community.

Objectives:

  1. Understand the importance of youth engagement in the permanency process.
  2. Learn best practices for supporting self-advocacy and decision-making for youth.
  3. Gain strategies and tools to create a youth-centered adoption experience.

Presenters:

  • Erika Settles, LMSW, Permanency Training Coordinator, Texas Institute for Child & Family Wellbeing
  • Chelsey Castro, Senior Permanency Resource Specialist, Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services
  • David G. Daniels, Transition Age Youth Programs Specialist, Texas Alliance of Child and Family Services.
