Centennial Celebration

528 Lockerbie Street is a true preservation of the Victorian home the great Hoosier Poet, James Whitcomb Riley, resided in the last twenty-three years of his life. The James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home opened to the public in 1922, and has been offering a glimpse into the history of James Whitcomb Riley and his Victorian world for the last ninety-two years. The home features the same furnishings and ornate décor Mr. Riley enjoyed during his lifetime. Visitors to our Museum Home will see beautiful ceilings painted by Italian Artisans, the desk where Mr. Riley penned some of his most well known works such as Little Orphant Annie and The Raggedy Man, and a myriad of other treasures.

<h3>On October 8th from 10am-5pm , musicians, poets, artists, antique dealers, food trucks, and more will descend on the James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home to celebrate our 100th year welcoming the public into the preserved home of the "Hoosier Poet." </h3><h2>The Home Will Host </h2><ul><li>A live stage with varied music and poetry performances throughout the day on the lawn of the Museum Home. </li><li>Arts and Antique vendors on Lockerbie St. as well as a garage sale in the surrounding historic neighborhood.</li><li>Original works of art of the Home and neighborhood by Indiana Heritage Artists. </li><li>Food trucks and other food vendors located on Park Ave. </li><li>Drinks from  Sun King and Hotel Tango Distillery </li><li>Live music in the historic home. </li><li>A silent auction, featuring prizes from local restaurants and vendors!</li></ul>

<h3>G﻿rab a drink and listen to performances from Him&amp;Her, other musicians, poets, and others on the main stage under the tent on our beautiful lawn. </h3><h3>Schedule:</h3><p>Pork and Beans Brass Band: 11am-12pm, 1pm-2pm</p><p>2pm - Indiana Youth Poet Laureate, Charlotte Yeung </p><p>3pm till close - Him &amp;Her</p><p>Poems from Mr. Riley throughout the day!</p>

<h3>Enjoy performances from classical duets featuring our 116 year old piano, a flautist, and violinist in our parlor throughout the entire day.</h3><h3>Schedule:</h3><p>Morning:  10:45-11:45 and 12-1pm, Rebecca Edie, piano; Peter Vickery, violin</p><p>Afternoon: 2pm-3pm and 3:30 – 4:30pm Allison Vickery, piano; Jenna Page, flute</p><h3></h3>

<h3>S﻿troll through the booths of talented artists on Lockerbie St. and hunt for antiques at garage sales throughout the historic neighborhood. <p><strong>Street Closures</strong> - Lockerbie St. will close from the Museum Home’s gravel lot through Park Ave. Park Ave will close from Vermont Place through Lockerbie St. </p>
