Jude Collective:Jude Collectivewas born December 10, 2017 over tapas after a weekend at Art Basel Miami Beach. The table consisted of a multi-disciplined group of artists who desired a platform where they could support and propell one another in creating and displaying art in a public and professional forum. Through collaborative exhibitions and programming, Jude aims to facilitate a space and community for emerging artists based on the principles; converse, create, connect.Imperial Bodega:New York has been the backdrop to a plethora of creative movements. These movements then evolved into cultural empires with global iconic figures leading the way. Every borough had proof that New York City is no stranger to the raw expression of art. The accessibility from the furthest point in the Bronx to the beaches in Brooklyn allowed artists to come together.The brushing of shoulders between punk rock frontmen, graffiti artists, nuyorican poets and jazz musicians all in one room was part of the beauty New York City offered. With the advancement of technology and arguably, the gentrification of New York that unity has become diluted and the road to artistic success has become highly competitive. Barriers have risen and the industry has become more elite, impeding the freedom and unity of artists in New York.Imperial Boedgawas founded to create a commonplace where all art is accepted and loved uniquely. The equivalent to a bodega in the ‘hood’, everything we need to nourish our creative souls in one place.

Jude Collective & Imperial Bodega

Jude Collective and Imperial Bodega have teamed up to create an immersive audio/visual experience featuring digital artwork by Linda Loh and music curated by Imperial Bodega. The installation is comprised of multiple projected, digital artworks inspired by ideas around light-based phenomena. Most pieces have their origins in sources of light that are then distorted or transformed using digital methods. The works arise from the artist’s interest in the relationship of light to altered states of consciousness, sensations of boundarylessness and infinity, and whether representation of things elusive and ephemeral can be a metaphor for experiences of transcendence. In conjunction there will be a DJ set by Hideto and live performance by local NYC collective, TribeWild. ‘Celestial Bodies’’ was born out of a mutual desire to create a space for all types of creatives to connect and build relationships that will drive their practice by inspiring conversations and collaboration across mediums.
