Welcome to the Celebration of Learning Benefit to Support Polaris Charter Academy! Join us on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the beautiful Greenhouse Loft for an inspiring evening of fun and fundraising. Our Celebration of Learning will showcase Polaris' innovative learning and transformative culture of Crew and character development that lifts every K-8 grade student up to achieve more than they think possible.

This inspirational evening is our biggest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds support Polaris learning expeditions and education initiatives for our K–8th grade students. Gather with your friends and join our Polaris Crew for this special evening that celebrates the power and impact of Polaris, supports our mission, and will leave you uplifted and inspired.

Enjoy an Immersive Experience and Inspiring Evening!


  • Meet Polaris Students. Experience the power of Polaris and learn how fieldwork, our culture of Crew and character development educate students to be effective learners and ethical people who contribute to a better world.
  • Special Performance by Polaris Uniting Voices Chicago. Our students will lift you up with their joyful singing. Our choir is part of a year-long residency with Uniting Voices Chicago.
  • Inspiring Student Speaker. A Polaris alum will share their story of academic growth and character development.
  • Student Art Exhibition
  • Mix and Mingle. Enjoy refreshing cocktails (open bar) and plentiful hors d’oeuvres, buffet, and desserts presented by Blue Plate, Chicago’s premier caterer. Enjoy games in the sky garden, and dance to lively music.
  • Give Back and Make a difference! Play the raffle and win awesome prizes. Paddle Raise opportunity to support and contribute to a better world.


EVENT PARKING IS FREE AND ONSITE!

  • There is FREE Indoor Parking (#2 see below) available in the Green Exchange building. Enter underground parking from Rockwell Street, entrance is just east of Ravinia Brewing Company. If you park inside the Green Exchange building, take the elevator up to our event.
  • There is a FREE Outdoor Parking (#1 see below) available in the Green Exchange building. Enter underground parking from Rockwell Street, entrance is just east of Ravinia Brewing Company. If you park inside the Green Exchange building, take the elevator up to our event.lot on the southeast corner of Maplewood and Diversey (just east of the Green Exchange building).
  • GREENHOUSE LOFT (2545 W. Diversey Avenue, Chicago, 60647) is on the second floor of the Green Exchange building. Enter the front door on Diversey and please take the escalator or elevator to the 2nd floor to enjoy the party! Greenhouse Loft is about 10 minutes from downtown (not accounting for traffic). It is 1 block east of the I-90/94 Diversey exit.

The mission of Polaris Charter Academy is to educate students to be self-motivated, creative critical thinkers, with the ultimate goal of shaping life-long learners and citizens with a strong sense of personal and civic responsibility.

Polaris is a free, public charter school in West Humboldt Park. We serve 450 K-8th grade students. We achieve our mission through our nationally recognized model of EL (formerly expeditionary learning) Education, by our hands-on Learning Expeditions and fieldwork with experts, our Culture of Crew, and the five Points of Polaris that guide our values: Integrity, Compassion, Explorer, Critical Thinker, Active Citizen. Polaris educates the whole child with its focus on academics, building character, and leadership development. Polaris is the only EL Education School in Chicago and has distinguished itself as one of 14 EL Mentor Schools in the U.S.
