About this event

Thriving With Lyme will be celebrating 1-Year of Afro-BodyLove: Dance Healing for Body Liberation and Empowerment, bringing visibility to Lyme disease and other chronic illnesses in black and brown communities using movement as medicine, community as care, and joy as healing.

RSVP NOW for this FREE Community Event for all abilities, ages, races, ethnicities, genders, sexuality, and religions. And bring the whole family, all generations welcome and encouraged to participate!

We’ll be dancing across the Vallejo Waterfront, so bring your picnic: chairs, blankets, food, sun hats, sunscreen, water, etc.

Program:

10am - Stillness + Stretch + Breath

11:30am - Dance Across the Waterfront

12:30pm - Lunch

1:30pm - Live Batá Drumming (hoping, but not confirmed)

2pm - End

We will absolutely be pacing ourselves throughout the day with 30-45 minute breaks to preserve our spoons. Remember! You can always join us while lying down on your blanket in the sun or in your chair to meet your body where it’s at. Participate as much or as little as you’d like and join us anytime throughout the day.

How to Prepare for Movement? All you need is a yoga mat or large towel. Feel free to bring your props, dance chairs, etc.; anything that supports your movement strategy, style, and accessibility.
