This required training explains all the parts of North Carolina’s SIDS Law.  Participants will review information about when and how to use the approved waivers, how to best place a baby in bed to sleep, and other “Best Practice” recommendations.  During the workshop, participants will get the needed information to create a Safe Sleep Policy, updated research about SIDS, and local health and safety resources.  Participants also will be walked through how to do an unresponsive infant drill and the reason for doing them regularly.  (DCDEE 1)

Child Care Resource Center is located at 500 W. Fourth Street, Suite 202, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.  
Parking Instructions:
Daytime workshops:  CCRC does not have onsite parking for workshop participants.  Parking is available at the parking deck at the corner of 4th and Poplar Streets for $4.00 per day.  The machine accepts, debit cards, credit cards and cash.  
Evening workshops:  Parking is available on the right side of the parking lot directly behind the Lowey Building (500 W. Fourth Street) between Spruce Street and Poplar Street. Enter on the Poplar Street side and park only on the right side of the parking lot. You can park anywhere on the right side after 5pm. 
Street Parking:  From 9 am to 6 pm you can park on the street for a fee of 50 cents for 2 hours of parking at a parking meter. Parking is free after 6pm.  
Building Entrance:
4th Street entrance: You can enter the building between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm by the front door – turquoise awning – sign in with the security guard and say that you are attending a meeting with Work Family Resource Center
Rear Entrance:  Enter at the double doors.  Press the call button and tell the guard that you are here for a meeting with Work Family Resource Center.  
Doors will be locked for evening workshops 15 minutes after the session start time.
