Event description

Description

Join us to celebrate CCF's work in education, and the power of books in our movement!

Honorees:

  • The New Press, which publishes books that promote and enrich public discussion and understanding of the issues vital to our democracy and to a more equitable world. Publications include The New Jim Crow, Becoming Ms. Burton, and Decarcerating America.
  • asha bandele, activist, organizer, and author of six books including The Prisoner's Wife, and the New York Times bestseller When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir, co-written with BLM founder Patrisse Kkan-Cullors.

Our spring benefit is a cocktail-style event with music, appetizers, and an open bar.

**IMPORTANT NOTE** This benefit will have mixed sitting and standing room. If you require seating for any disability or mobility reasons, please contact Melanie Steinhardt msteinhardt@collegeandcommunity.org.

College & Community Fellowship enables women with criminal convictions to earn their college degrees so that they, their families, and their communities can thrive. We advocate for equity and opportunity for the communities we serve.
