<p><em>Cassie’s Ballad </em>follows the story of Brandon, a young Black teen living in Atlanta during the early 1980s. His friend Cassie has lost her voice after a child they know has gone missing. With the guidance of an Ancestor, Brandon guides attendees on a literal search for the missing child and a figurative search for Cassie’s voice. From the “Graveyard of Innocence” to Cassie’s Bottle Tree, the journey leads to a sad but healing discovery.</p><p><strong><em>Cassie&#x27;s Ballad</em></strong><strong> is a restorative communal ritual and theatrical hike.</strong> Set entirely outdoors within the urban forest of the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, you will travel with the characters and a small group of fellow attendees to multiple locations along a wooded path. <strong>Hiking shoes or closed-toe walking shoes are highly recommended.</strong></p><p>Please note that the 7:00 PM hike follows a shorter, flatter route and is recommended for attendees with mobility issues or who prefer an easier trail. The 8:30 PM hike runs approx. 1.5 miles round trip with parts that follow steep, single-file trails.</p><p>Attendees requiring accommodations for mobility issues should contact the box office ahead of attending<em> Cassie&#x27;s Ballad</em>.</p>
<em>***On May 8th, both hikes will be photographed and filmed. Attendees may be captured on film and/or video. By attending the event, you agree to your likeness being used for marketing and archival purposes.***</em>

<h2>FAQs</h2><h3>Where will <em>Cassie&#x27;s Ballad</em> take place?</h3><p><em>Cassie&#x27;s Ballad</em> takes place entirely outdoors at the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance.</p><h3>What ages are welcome at <em>Cassie&#x27;s Ballad</em>?</h3><p>We recommend this experience for pre-teens and up, but all ages are welcome.</p><h3>What should I wear?</h3><p>You will be hiking along specified trails during this experience. We recommend wearing hiking shoes, if you have them, or comfortable closed-toe walking shoes. We also recommend dressing in layered clothing that is appropriate for hiking through the woods.</p><h3>Where can I park?</h3><p>Parking will be available at the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, either in their parking lot or on the street.</p><h3>What is the rain-plan if the weather is too bad to be outdoors?</h3><p>If the weather is too bad to be outdoors, <em>Cassie&#x27;s Ballad </em>will take place inside the Activity Center building as a modified &quot;campfire storytelling&quot; experience.</p><h3>How do I contact the box office about mobility accommodations for myself or someone in my party?</h3><p>We want to make sure you have the best experience possible.
