Join us for a festival event in celebration of Glen Echo Park's 105-year-old Dentzel carousel as it opens for the season!

Glen Echo Park's beloved carousel opens Saturday, May 2, 2026 on Carousel Day! Join us for a festival event in celebration of the Park's 105-year-old Dentzel carousel. Enjoy the first rides of the 2026 carousel season!

In addition to riding the carousel, families are welcome to enjoy many other FREE activities throughout the Park including live music & dance performances, a spring parade and maypole celebration, kids' arts & crafts, open artist studios & galleries, and lots more! Stay all day, because we'll have food & treats from Money Muscle BBQ, Pacha Mama Juice, Ben & Jerry's, and our very own Praline Café!

This year’s Carousel Day performances will focus on music and dance from the African diaspora, in recognition of its influences over more than a century on American music and dance styles such as tap and hip hop.
