BRINGING TOGETHER AUTHORS, READERS, NOVICE WRITERS, LISTENERS, AND LEARNERS. WE HOPE TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO READ MORE, WRITE MORE, AND CONTRIBUTE POSITIVELY TO SOCIETY THROUGH THE LITERARY ARTS.

Currently entering its 17th year, the Carolina Mountains Literary Festival (CMLF) has become a beloved Carolina Mountains tradition. Held each fall the weekend after Labor Day, CMLF is a weekend-long celebration of all things literary, bringing together readers and writers from the WNC region and beyond. Over just two days (and two evenings) CMLF delivers over 50 free presentations, 5 low cost workshops, multiple author school visits (at no-cost to the school and often including free books for students), nationally known keynote speakers, and local community partnerships with Parkway Playhouse, Yancey County Library, Plott Hound Books among others.
